Good web-shopping experience with excellent product descriptions and sizing information. Arrived promptly, exactly as described. Shoes appear to be very well made. Fit is exactly as expected.
I've been wearing foot-shaped athletic shoes for many years with low cushion and zero drop. I've also worn rather thin sandals for many years. But my new Barebarics Bravo sneakers take "barefoot" to a new level. Wearing my new shoes, I can feel nuanced textures in the ground, like thin cracks in sidewalks, yet my feet feel protected from hazards like glass or sharp rocks or furniture corners that leap out at my toes. The first day of work (I work exclusively on my feet on hard surfaces), I had to change to my old sneakers halfway through the day because my feet were fatigued. I look forward to building stronger musculature in my feet, which is the reason why I sought barefoot shoes.
They look stylish too.
Thanks!

Dear Elizabeth, Thank you so much for your detailed and positive review! We appreciate your support. We understand the challenges you may face wearing barefoot shoes for extended periods, especially for beginners. It's a process that requires time for your feet and body to adjust to this new type of footwear. To ease this transition, we recommend alternating between our barefoot shoes and regular footwear initially. Thank you once again for your valuable feedback and for your understanding. Best regards, Team Be Lenka

Barefoot shoes are notorious for looking a bit goofy to someone who doesn't wear them. Though these are the closest to "normal" I've seen barefoot shoes be.

I've taken out the insole to reduce the stack height but the insole does provide decent cushion for those long days on your feet. Mh main gripe with these shoes however is that the sole is quite stiff fora barefoot shoe, which in turn comes at a loss of ground feel. However, I plan to use mine for purely casual purposes so this is not a huge deal for me.

Overall, I'm happy with my purchase and look forward to getting more pairs from the brand in the future!

Dear Ivan, Thank you for your detailed review! We appreciate your feedback regarding the stiffness of the sole and the impact it has on ground feel. Usually, it takes some time for our shoes to break in and loosen. If you have any further feedback or questions, please don't hesitate to reach out at info@belenka.com. Best regards, Team Be Lenka

The shoes fit nice, I order according to the size sheet. They are around 0,6 cm larger then my feet.

TL;DR: very happy, good shoes, would buy again
So far, no complaints about the build quality. They seem very sturdy (I've only been wearing them for 2 weeks, so maybe look up longer reviews to form your own opinion before buying).
The sole is stiffer than I expected on barefoot shoes, but I thinks its a good thing as these are the first barefoot shoes I own and I think the stiff sole will help the transition form Vans to barefoot.
The heel part of the shoe is quite high for what I'm used to so this does dig in a bit when walking. I presume this will take some breaking in to soften up that part of the shoe. It has not really bothered me so far but it's good to know.
I wear these with Correctoes and they fit really well, I even have some space left to wiggle the toes around.
It's currently winter around here and I noticed that my toes got a lot colder than in my Vans. This was solved by wearing a second pair of socks (ski socks). Even with two pairs of socks and the Correctoes, the shoes did not feel cramped.
I also love that they look like regular sneakers and so far nobody has made a remark on how wide they are. If you know, you know and they do seem wide, but I think this is just me being selfconsious, other people don't seem to notice or care enough to make a remark on it so those selfconsious thoughts do dissapear quite quickly.
They also tighten really well, on other shoes I had to adjust every piece of lace individually, on these I just pull the laces at the top and the whole shoe tightens with it (hope this makes sense)

Description & Specifications

Materials used:

Barebarics sneakers are produced using processes that minimize the impact on the environment.

  • The upper is made from high-quality nappa leather (smooth, low-maintenance leather) combined with Cordura®. This material is a symbol of durability and longevity and lasts up to three times more than regular polyester.
  • The lining of the shoe is made from Dermodry Coolmax® technical fabric, which enables constant moisture drainage. This type of lining speeds up the process of moisture–drainage and sweat absorption, thanks to which the skin of the foot remains dry. Dermodry Coolmax® is a soft, light and breathable material that is used in luxurious footwear models and undergoes the most demanding tests of technical quality performed in independent laboratories.
  • The sole is made from soft synthetic rubber with high wear-and-tear resistance. The ComfortGrip sole designed for comfortable movement and exploring new places not only in the urban jungle.
  • The insole is composed of PU recycled material and microfiber, which provides excellent breathability and allows excellent sweat drainage.

Barefoot properties

  • Anatomic shape The sneaker respects the shape of the feet. It creates roomy space for toes during movement, it prevents toes from being pressed or developing calluses
  • Material flexibility The flexible sole enables necessary movement. The feet are not restricted and strengthen naturally
  • Zero-drop The heel and front of the shoe are levelled. Thanks to this, the body posture and overall correction of the centre of gravity are improved
  • Adaptive sole 4 mm thick (without protrusions) stimulates nerve endings. It strengthens balance, and awareness of terrain and it protects the feet
  • Lightweight The Barebarics sneakers are lightweight and with no arch, which prevents leg fatigue and supports the correct walking stereotype

When choosing the size of shoes, it is necessary to consider other aspects in addition to the shoe size chart (foot physiology - shape, toe width, instep, and others) that can have an impact on how the shoe will fit your foot.

We recommend adding an excess of 0.5 - 1.2 cm to the total length of your foot, which will give you your ideal shoe size.

How to measure your foot correctly?

  • Place a blank A4-sized paper on a flat, smooth and even surface.
  • Step onto the paper with all your weight on the leg.
  • Use a pen/pencil to mark the heel and the farthest point from the heel (beware, it may not always be the big toe)
  • Measure the distance between these two points on feet with a ruler (the difference can be ± 0.5 cm)
  • The number obtained is the length of the foot
  • Add an extra 0.5-1.2 cm (ideal leeway) to the length of the foot, and you will get the ideal size of your shoe.
  • Find your shoe size per the above measurements by referring to the size chart for each product on our website.
  • The size chart indicates the inner length and width of our barefoot shoes in centimetres.

Important note

  • Our size charts may not correlate with other brands. Hence we recommend following the above steps to determine your correct Be Lenka barefoot shoe size.
